When the goal is to maximize available space—or minimize the area occupied by the photovoltaic system—the Sail mounting system by Sun Ballast is the ideal solution. The concrete ballasts used in this PV panel racking system are arranged with increasing height from the ground, allowing rows to be positioned directly next to each other. This creates a true “sail” structure and eliminates the need for spacing between rows.

Depending on project requirements, these support structures can also be configured in single rows, with fully adjustable row length, spacing, and height from the roof. Available with tilt angles of 5°, 10°, and the 11° version shown in the photo, the Sail system allows for up to three consecutive rows with the 11° tilt, and up to six rows with the 5° version.

This 6 kW photovoltaic system was installed in the province of Salerno on a flat roof covered with a waterproof membrane. Thanks to Sun Ballast’s metal core reinforced concrete structures, the installation was completed quickly and cost-effectively. The racking system requires no roof penetration and comes with pre-integrated threaded bushings for panel fixation, ensuring a fast, secure, and durable mounting process.
