The concrete ballasts of the Sun Ballast Sail system have been developed to optimize the surfaces dedicated to photovoltaic systems to the maximum and can be easily used on any type of surface, including the ground. The Sail system consists of various photovoltaic ballasts, each with a different height from the ground: in this way, the rows of modules are placed side by side, forming actual “sails,” reducing the distance between the rows to zero and managing shading optimally.
The photovoltaic structures of this system can also be placed in single rows, offering an optimal solution when it is necessary to maintain a certain distance between the panel and the support surface (e.g., green roofs). Like all Sun Ballast ballasts, those used in this ground-mounted photovoltaic system already contain M8 fixing inserts, making panel installation even faster and safer. The Sail system is available with two different inclinations: in the 10° version (visible in the photo), it is possible to place up to three rows of consecutive modules, while with the 5° inclination version, the rows increase to six.
This 24 kW system was built by our customer G2SUN SAS in Grimaud (France), and thanks to the Sun Ballast photovoltaic ballasts, the installation was completed by minimizing installation times, avoiding any anchoring operations, and ensuring the highest level of reliability.
