Thanks to its unique configuration, the Sun Ballast Sail system – available with tilt angles of 5° and 10° – maximizes the use of flat roofs with limited space: the ballast for the photovoltaic system is arranged in consecutive rows with increasing height from the ground. This way, it is possible to reduce or eliminate the distance between the rows by placing the maximum number of panels. The ability to easily adjust the length – thanks to the total absence of roof penetration – also allows for quick management of obstacles on the roof, such as chimneys, skylights, or life lines.

The 5° Sail system used in this installation allows for up to six consecutive rows of modules, while the 10° version accommodates up to three rows.

The 40 kW photovoltaic plant visible in the photo was installed in the province of Milan (Cinisello Balsamo), and the Cablowind system was added to the back of the photovoltaic structures: this concrete element – positioned inside the metal guides fixed to the bushings already present in the ballast – acts as both a supplementary weight and a cable channel, making the photovoltaic system not only more stable but also more organized and professional.
