330 kWp
5°
The 330 kW photovoltaic system visible in the photo was installed on a hotel in Croatia (in Šibenik), and thanks to the Sun Ballast mounting system for flat roofs, the installation was carried out easily and quickly. Sun Ballast’s ballast systems for photovoltaic panels do not require any anchoring holes in the roof, and the mounting does not involve any complex metallic components.
The system used also allowed for the optimal use of the available space on the building: the “Sail” system consists of various photovoltaic structures, which, arranged with increasing height, allow the rows of modules to be placed next to each other, reducing (or eliminating) the distance between them and maximizing the surfaces.
Available in two different versions, the 10° “Sail” system allows for up to three consecutive rows, while the 5° tilt version – used for this system – allows for up to 6 rows. The system is also compatible with both U-Block supplementary weights (15 and 30 kg) and the Cablowind system: the former can be placed directly on the ballasts, quickly enhancing the stability of the structure, while Cablowind is fixed to the rear part.
The special concrete channel functions both as a housing for electrical cables and as a supplementary weight, and is placed inside the metal collars fixed to the bushings on the back of the ballasts. Thanks to these accessories, the weight of the system can be easily adjusted depending on the specific characteristics of the installation location and the project’s objectives.
