The Sail system by Sun Ballast has been designed to maximize the use of space dedicated to the installation of photovoltaic systems on flat roofs, including small areas commonly found on residential buildings. This system allows for the consecutive placement of module rows, eliminating spacing between them and optimizing all available surfaces.

Like all Sun Ballast concrete ballasts, the ones used in this system provide high wind resistance without any penetration on the cover, and they can support modules of any size, including large panels over 2 meters in length.

In this 6 kW photovoltaic plant installed in Palermo, the last row of ballasts, which is more exposed to weather conditions, was reinforced with the No-Flex Kit: this accessory, consisting of an additional ballast for photovoltaic panels and a special metal bracket, allows fixation also at the central part of the panel, offering six support points, complying with all support parameters, and eliminating the risk of flexion.

The Sail system is available with a tilt angle of 5° or 10°, allowing for up to 6 consecutive rows at 5° and 3 rows at 10°. As with all Sun Ballast support structures, the ballasts used in this system come pre-equipped with M8 bushings for fixation, and can be installed on flat roofs of any material – including membrane, gravel, pavement, and more.
