Sun Ballast photovoltaic ballasts can be used on all types of flat surfaces—from large bituminous membrane roofs of industrial buildings to green roofs on houses and condos.

This photovoltaic system was installed in Delémont (Switzerland) by Gerber Solar Sàrl using the East-West 10°.2 system with concrete ballasts. Compatible with a wide range of ballast models—from 3° to 30°—the East-West systems by Sun Ballast offer a simple, versatile, and easy and fast mounting solution.

The option to use structures with varying heights from the ground enables optimal system design even for ground-mounted systems or installations on green roofs. Raised ballast structures prevent interference from vegetation, protecting modules from potential damage or performance loss, while also offering weather resistance.
These photovoltaic support structures, which combine support and ballast weight in a single concrete element, allow for adjustable row length and spacing—making it easier to manage roof obstacles and avoid shading.

Like all Sun Ballast systems, the ones used here required no penetration on the cover or into the roof structure: the M8 bushing fixation points are pre-inserted, enabling quicker and more secure module mounting.
