The 15 kW photovoltaic system shown in the photo was installed in Milan on a flat gravel roof. The use of Sun Ballast support structures for photovoltaic panels made the installation process significantly easier and faster.

The concrete ballast serves both as weight and as a supportstructure for the panels, eliminating the need for any complex metal mounting components. This simplifies the installation on virtually any surface, reducing both time and costs.

Sun Ballast’s concrete ballasts do not require any anchoring holes: they are simply placed (in this case, on the building coverage layer underneath the gravel), and the panel is fixed using the pre-inserted M8 threaded bushings. The single-row system used here with a 15° tilt is available in a wide range of tilt angles from 0° to 30°. It allows full flexibility in adjusting the row length and spacing, making it easier to manage roof obstacles.

When higher wind resistance is needed, it’s easy to enhance the system using accessories. The Cablowind concrete duct, for example, attaches to the existing bushings at the rear of the structures. It increases stability and structural resistance, while also acting as a cable housing improving the system’s organisation, durability, and professional appearance.
